Eastern Nutrition at Healing Foundations
Traditional Oriental medicine regards food as natural healing medicinals that can restore your body's natural balance, eliminate disease and promote health. Eastern nutrition emphasizes the use of whole, organic food in its simplest and most unprocessed form.Eastern nutrition emphasizes eating grains, legumes, vegetables, fruits, nuts and seeds, seaweed and minerals. It encourages simple food combinations and eating according to the seasons and your particular health conditions.
After extensive consultation, your practitioner can provide you with customized recommendations about the food you eat – or should eat – to help correct the fundamental cause of your discomfort, not just to relieve the symptoms.
The recommended food can be found at any local market. There are no exotic items. You may also be asked to limit your intake of chocolate, sugar, meat, eggs, cheese and soft dairy products.
Reiki at Healing Foundations
Reiki is a Japanese form of therapy that promotes relaxation and healing. It is one of the fastest growing complementary therapies in the world and it is used in many hospitals, nursing homes, hospices and spas throughout the United States.Reiki is a simple and safe technique that works in conjunction with other medical or therapeutic modalities to speed recovery and ease side effects. The patient lies fully clothed on a massage table or may be seated in a chair during the 60 minute treatment. The practitioner gently places their hands on or above areas along the endocrine system, organs and trouble spots on the back and front of the body. An increased sense of relaxation, clarity and well-being is often reported after treatment.
Although research has shown that Reiki provides an excellent support for many medical conditions, it is not a substitute for medical treatment. Reiki practitioners do not diagnose medical conditions.
